The following individuals have volunteered their time, energy, and expertise in order to bring hope to Malian orphans and vulnerable children.

Kadiatou was born and raised in Bamako, Republic of Mali by a single father.  She earned a Masters in Statistics and Econimics from the Moscow University of Statistics and Economics in 1994, and an MBA with concentration in Non Profit Organization Management from the George Washington University in 2008.  She's served in the United States Navy as a Supply Corps Officer for the past 15 years.  She's always wanted to do something to help Malian orphans, and founded A Child For All to materialize her dream.

Jolie Mary Carey first went to Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cote d'Ivoire (1997-1999). During her work in RCI, she had the opportunity to visit Mali (Bamako, Mopti, Djene, Toubouktou, etc...).  She has since committed much of her work to the social justice issues: working in Sundan for 16 months on improving agriculture and women's small businesses and covering programing in East and West Africa for the International Recue Committee (IRC) while based in London.She has been to 15 countries in Africa.  Jolie is presently at the Peace Corps HQ supporting programing in East and Southern Africa.  She has a masters of International Affairs degree from Columbia University.

 Moussa is a native of Mali, West Africa.  After studying in Mali, he came to the States to further his education.  He holds masters degrees in Civil Engineering from the Universities of Alabama, in Birmingham, and the Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.  He currently works for the State Highway Administration of Maryland as a professional Engineer. Moussa is a devoted and positively passionate person for the children's cause, and has served on ACFA's board since its inception in 2008.

Jason Beach was born and raised in Maryland where he currently resides.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Salisbury University in 2004.  In July of 2006, he departed for Mali to serve as Peace Corps Volunteer.  Jason was trained in the local Malian language of Bambara and he conducted water sanitation, health, and small income generating projects in Koumantou, a township in the southern region of Mali.  After completing his 27 month service, he took employment as a Peace Corps Recruiter in Arlington, VA.  He is currently attending school at the University of Maryland earning his Masters in Public Policy.

Alpha earned a Masters in Veterinary Science in 1994 from the University of Stravropol, and an MBA concentrating in Management from the Strayer University in Washington D.C. in 2004.  His experience include working with such organizations as the Network of Sustainable Development in Africa, Corporate Council for Africa, a World Bank Project in Mali, as well as other Corporations in Mali and the U.S.  He is currently serving as the Economic Assistant at the Malian Embassy in Washington D.C.

Lisa Savitt  practices international law in Washington, D.C. and is the Liaison Officer for the American Bar Association Section of International Law (“SIL”).   SIL has over 24,000 members including lawyers from around the world.   Part of Lisa’s role is to oversee communications on mutual areas of cooperation with other bar associations including rule of law issues.  Lisa’s husband Mike is a scientist and he has worked on a project that would provide a means to prevent malaria.  Lisa and her husband Mike have traveled to East Africa and look forward to visiting Mali in the near future.

Mary Beth Sams is currently the acting Director of Development at Vinson Hall Retirement Community in McLean, Virginia.  Vinson Hall is a community for retired military officers and family members, and is developing a new initiative to provide transitional housing options for active duty wounded warriors.  Mary Beth grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia and has a BS in social work from Virginia Tech, a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary, and a MA in International Service and Non-Profit Management from the University of Surrey in London.  She has worked for local, national, and international non-profits, mainly in the DC/Northern Virginia area for over 15 years.  She lives in Reston with her two Aussie Shepherd pups, Wesley and Surrey.

Rebecca Gelinas is a Senior Manager at a large international non-profit organization based in Norfolk, VA, where she manages global database systems and is part of the direct response marketing team. Previously she worked for museums in California and Rhode Island.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from Illinois State University, and will begin work on a Master’s Degree in Public Service at DePaul University in the fall of 2011.  She and her husband Robert, an officer in the US Navy, are actively involved in several organizations that promote international development and animal welfare.

Alexis Strader is originally from Greensboro, NC and received a BA in Romance Languages in 2005 from UNC-Chapel Hill. After graduation she worked in France and Spain and speaks French fluently and is proficient in Spanish. A passion for international development and women’s rights inspired Alexis to return to school in 2009. She is currently pursuing a dual masters degree in Business Administration and International Development at American University, with an expected graduation date of May, 2012. As part of her graduate coursework she spent two and half months in Bamako, Mali during the summer of 2011. While in Bamako, Alexis had the opportunity to spend time with the children and staff of ACFA and this experience, more than anything, confirmed her decision to dedicate her career to reducing poverty and increasing the well-being for those living in this part of the world.
